Sexual Assault - Man charged following Sexual Assault

A 39 year old man is facing charges after a woman was sexually assaulted in St. Catharines.
On Sunday April 15th, 2018 at approximately 12:45am, an unlicensed cab picked up a female in the St. Paul Street and Ontario Street area of the City of St. Catharines.
The driver took the female to a parking lot in the area of Bunting Road and Welland Ave where she was sexually assaulted.
As a result of an investigation by the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit, a suspect was identified and arrested.
39 year old Mahmoud Al Arag of St. Catharines is facing the alleged charge of:
- Sexual Assault Section 271 C.C.
Al Arag is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday April 16, 2018 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
